Late Summer Cuppycakes

We recently had an order for 216 cuppycakes for a little girl's birthday party.  Her color scheme for her party was yellow, lime green, and pink. The colors reminded me of summer which explains the title of our post.  The mother requested to have mini flowers on the chocolate flavored cuppycakes so we came up with this design.  Each flower has a golden metallic bead in the middle of the flower and everything is edible.  I wish I was able to get a whole shot of all the cuppycakes but after creating over 400 mini flowers along with decorating over 200 cuppycakes.. I didn't have the time to set up a nice shot of all the cuppycakes!  But I think the pictures I got are enough to show you what we created and I love the setting of our background.

Brown and Pink Peony Wedding Cake

This is a large 3 tier round wedding cake that served 125 guests and that was delivered in Waimea.  The cake is covered in dark chocolate fondant and topped with handmade sugar peonies.  The cake flavors are guava with swiss meringue buttercream, vanilla with cream cheese filling and diced fresh strawberries, and strawberry delight with cream cheese filling and diced fresh strawberries.  We had a great time working with the beautiful bride, Makana to come up with a design for her wedding cake.

J + K Heart Shaped Wedding Cake

Congratulations to the Newly weds, Kristyn and John!!!  The bride, Kristyn requested to have a heart shaped cake with their initials on it with fresh purple singapore orchids to match her wedding bouquet.  We created mini pearlized sugar butterflies to go with her cake since part of her theme was butterflies.  Also if you notice we put her cake on an oversized board because she had a wedding cake topper that she wanted to put along side of the cake. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture with the wedding cake topper that she used with the cake.  But we did get pictures of it by itself and other pics that she provided of her wedding.

Sweet Plum Plumeria Cake

This buttercream wedding cake is 3 tiers round, mango with mango filling and lilikoi with lilikoi filling.  The bride who chose the colors absolutely loves purple so we had the opportunity to create this fun colored wedding cake.  The plumerias and mini leaves are handmade sugar plumerias and leaves.

Susan + Jason Wedding Cake

Congratulations to the beautiful couple from California who decided to wed in Kailua Kona, Hawaii!  This cake is coconut with coconut filling covered in vanilla buttercream.  The flowers used to decorate the cake are fresh singapore orchids.

Halloween Sprinkled Cuppycakes

WOW!  We have been getting a lot of chocolate orders for our Halloween Cuppycakes.  Hmmm is it the dark hue of the cuppycakes that scream night, dark, and possibly scary?  What ever it is I think the cake looks great with the Halloween decorations.  If your a chocolate lover, you have to try our chocolate cake.  Our chocolate cake is made with fresh ingredients with out any preservatives or hydrogenated oils.  It is moist and melts in your mouth just like chocolate itself does. Yum!

BOO! Cuppycakes

These cuppycakes were ordered for Kai's classmates in his school.  He specifically wanted ghost on his cuppycakes along with sprinkles.  So we decided to do half a batch of sprinkled cuppycakes along with half being Ghost cuppycakes.  I wish I had more time to take a picture of all our cuppycakes but our orders have been coming and going faster then I can take a snap a shot.

Hawaii's Iron Man Competition 2011 Cake

Yet another Iron Man was held in Kailua Kona, Hawaii this year.  All athletes are required to do a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run (or walk..as long as your moving!). Usually a couple days before the race I notice a bunch of the athletes eating sushi or standing in line with what I call bird food (because the food is light and little). But what other better way to celebrate finishing a race with a little cake. Hey, any person deserves whatever they want to eat when they have just finished a race like this!

Well one of our customers as you may have read about in our previous blog placed another order for an Iron Man themed cake for her brother who is actually one of the athletes in the race. She wanted to surprise him with the cake when he finished his race.  This cake is chocolate with coconut filling and covered in fondant.  Congratulations to all competitors especially "Pistol Pete"!

Rosie Pink Laced Cuppycakes

Our client all the way from Vermont placed an order for these pretty cuppycakes while she was on vacation here in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.  She wanted to gift them to her sister and daughter for there birthday.  The cuppycakes are chocolate flavored with roasted coconut filling and topped with sweet sugar roses.  She also placed an order for her brother who was one of the athletes in the Iron Man Competition.  We will be posting additional pictures of the Iron Man Competition cake on our next post.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lowe

This couple made a special order for vanilla cake with creamcheese filling, fresh strawberries and rasberries.  Can you say, "yum!"  It looked so delicious that I decided to bake an extra cake to bring home to my family for dessert.  Although it was a rainy and humid day, which along came complications with the frosting.  The delivery was a success and the couple loved it.

Baby Winnie The Pooh Giant Cupcake

Happy Birthday to Brayden on his very first birthday!

This is an oreo cake with vanilla buttercream shaped as a giant cupcake.

Brayden's mommy sent us a copy of his birthday invitations to give an idea of the color scheme and theme.  The order was originally just for a giant cupcake but when we seen Baby Winnie The Pooh we decided to throw in a handmade sugar Winnie the Pooh as well.  As Baby Winnie The Pooh seemed to be the highlight of the party.  The cake and decorations are made of fondant and everything is edible!

Cascading Singapore Orchids and Hula Lovers

We tend to have a lot of orders requesting cymbidium orchids but another popular orchid in Hawaii is singapore orchids.  And both of these are great for decorating a cake, you could have it cascading down as seen in this one or assembled in different areas (along side, top, bottom, etc.).  The couple provided the cake topper, which I fell in love with.  It is so cute and guess what it really wasn't a cake topper.  Instead it was a salt and pepper shaker that magnetically stook together!  For this cake I think it truly captured the essence of Hawaii and at the same time with simplicity.  This is a 2 tier square cake, classic yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and coconut cake with chocolate ganache filling, covered in swiss meringue buttercream!

Mario Themed Sugar Cookies!

Happy Birthday to Danny! These are Mario themed sugar cookies requested by a mother who decided to have these for her son's birthday party.  The mother decided to make her son a cake as a gift.  But I m sure he also got more than a cake! LoL. I was so excited to bake these cookies as my child has been asking me to make a Mario cake and when he saw these cookies when they were ready to be delivered he said, "Make me Mario cookies too!"  So like any other mother who has a soft spot for there child when they want some thing really bad, I decided to also bake another batch for my child and his school classmates.
I am so surprised how popular Mario and Luigi is now days.  As it brings back memories when I too loved Mario and Luigi, back in the Nintendo years.
Anyways, so we baked Mushroom cookies, mini Mario and Luigi cookies (some thing you would see on Mario and Luigi's hat) and star cookies.  Mama Mia!

Velvet Love, Lemon Twist & Chocolate Cupcake Tower

Congratulations to the Newly Weds!  This is a continuation post from our Vintage Diving Helmet Sugar Cookies.  The couple ordered close to 100 cuppycakes.  Velvet love with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with swiss meringue buttercream, and lemon twist with swiss meringue buttercream.  The client requested to go with our classic swirls rather than our signature swirl (which looks like swirled ice cream).  In the pictures our cuppycakes are displayed on our cupcake stand that is available for rent.  It's great for displaying your cuppycakes and cake bites.  You can also personalize the stand by adding flowers to the tiers or wrapping a satin ribbon around the tiers.  Feel free to contact us for more info on our rental stands.
