Cuppy Cakes

So what is a Cuppy Cake?  It's a cupcake with just a cooler name from Sweets Galore and I myself before I started my business always called cupcakes, "Cuppy Cakes".  So it just stuck to me and tada ~ Cuppy Cakes.

Well I wanted to share a very useful tip on budgeting for an event and who doesn't like to save money?  Us locals love deals and I should know since I was born and raised in the islands.

If you are one who would like a cake and at the same time be able to budget then my cuppy cakes should do you good.  Cupcake towers are the new party trend along side with fondant designed cakes.  For me I like to present my cakes so that they are noticeable and have height so that it doesn't look like those sad full sheet cakes you get at a local grocery store.  Plus what's fun about a cake that you can only see the designs when hoovering over it, wouldn't you want some thing that you could see from a far. My point is cuppy cakes can do the same, they can look just as great as a fondant designed cake from a far and best yet when they are presented on a cupcake tower it looks so elegant.  Another thing that is so great with a cupcake tower is you don't have to be cake deprived meaning you can have a nicely designed mini cake on top of your tower.  This is great for wedding too because you can cut a slice out from the one cake that is on the very top. Did I mention the endless ways of designing a cupcake?  From the beautiful swirls, to a smooth fondant finish, mini sugar sculptures and dazzling sprinkles!  You can bling out your cuppy cakes in which ever way is desired.
Now let's talk about pricing, for a cupcake it could range anywhere from $1.25 (mostly prepackaged cake mix made from grocery stores) to $8.00 depending on flavors, designs, and definitely the bakery.  I actually seen a business in Hong Kong that charges $16 for a standard cupcake!  Isn't that bizarre?!  As for my cuppy cakes I charge a reasonable price for quality cuppy cakes and they can be customary designed the way you would like them! You can see a price list for cuppy cakes at www.sweetsgalorehawaii.com/pricing.  If you are thinking of adding a mini cake on the top of your cupcake stand the cost will start from $30.00 and will feed up to 10 servings through Sweets Galore.
Well I hope this helped some of you as far as cake budgeting!

Recent Updates

Hi all!
So I finished the Thomas the Train themed cake just the other day and wanted to post a picture up so you could see what it looked like.  This is a topsy turvy cake that did not need to be carved.  Most top bakers now days are staring to make this topsy turvy cake because it has a clean and elegant look to it.  I love this topsy turvy style!  Also, if most of you noticed I just updated my website and cleaned it up a bit.  Change is good.

Until my next blog.. EAT CAKE.

Thomas the Train

Today I started sculpting Thomas the train tank engine out of sugar paste and I will be using this for a child's birthday cake.  The whole cake theme is thomas the train.
Also, I do not know if any of you seen on my website's home page about sugar sculptures.  Sugar sculptures are great for party cake toppers and for keeping it as a souvenir.  In fact I still have my wedding cake topper made out of sugar stored away for keepsake!  Most places sell a sugar sculpture for about $80.00 for one!  Yea, isn't that crazy?  I remember when I was shopping around before I started baking and decorating cakes for just one figurine it cost $100.00.  wow.  Well Sweets Galore offers majority of figurines for just $25.00.  Sugar sculptures are getting very popular now days....

Storing Your Cake

Here is a common asked question, "How do I store my cake or cuppy cakes?"  Very simple!  If you ordered a fondant covered cake and would like to have your cake waiting for your guests just keep your cake in cool area at room temperature.  Do not put your cake in the refrigerator unless it is an iced cake!  Same thing goes with your cuppy cakes unless they just have icing on top and small fondant decorations.  Got left overs?  Put your left overs in the remaining cake box if provided from Sweets Galore or wrap it in saran wrap.  You can either store your cake in the refrigerator for at the most a week or some people actually freeze there cake and save it for later.  Simple!

The Orange Dream

Hi all!
I realized that blogging is a great idea to keep my customers in the loop and make you all feel like you are part of the wonderful, Sweets Galore.
So here it is... A new tasteful flavor called Orange Dream is now available for our cakes and cuppy cakes! This flavor has absolutely NO trans fats, hydrogenated oils and corn syrup! It is made with the best ingredients and no artificial flavoring. As of right now most of our cakes are made with whole ingredients and no trans fats, hydrogenated oils and corn syrup. But my goal is to get ALL of the cakes to be that way, as most of you should know from reading it in sweetsgalorehawaii.com in the "about" section.
I prefer that my cakes just taste even yummier when I know my cakes don't have all those additives like most other store bought cakes or bakeries.
Well that's all updates for now and keep in touch so you can see what other flavors we are going to launch and hmmm may be even order a cake for your special event!
